2700k or 3770k

Cant really deiced between the two. Starting to do a lot of editing and rendering.

3770k - hyperthreading will help you in redering. If you can swing the extra money, get a 3930k for extra cores for even better rendering times. Socket 1155 is dead now - Intel is going to put the next few series of CPUs on the 2011 socket, but if you are limited in your budget, get the 3770k - I love mine ;)

FX-8350 is open to you if rendering is key, the intels have better single core power used for alot of games (single thread apps) but alot of video editing/rendering programes are multi thread capable (4+ threads)meaning the 8350 can do more(with its 8 cores).

I had thought about the 8350 but I already have an 1155 board

well if youve already got the 1155 board then the 3770k would be my choice, its most likely gunna be the last of the 1155 chips so no point is getting the slightly weaker 2700k (and when i say slightly i mean SLIGHTLY lol)

I think I will, thanks for the advice!

If you plan on doing some serious ocing I would go with the 2700k.

Meh, if he has decent cooling, he should be able to OC it close to what the Sandy can do. And even when it's slightly lower clocked, it's still as fast

ya if you're doing any professional work you should go with the fastest cpu (at stock clock.). you don't want to do rendering with an overclocked anything. because if your system blue screens you could lose hours to days of work. so go with the 3770k
