270 or 280?

hi guys,

 

just a quick question. should i go for the 280 or the 270. the 270 is 160 euro's with bf4 50 euro. so it is 110 cuz i want bf4:) or the 280. the 280 isn't on the market now but i am waiting. i buy my pc in februari and i hope the 280 is 220 euro or less with bf4. i won't upgrade it for 3 years. i like games like bf4 but i don't run them on ultra. just 1080p with texture on ultra, but lightning on low and shadow low. does someone has a 270/270x 7870 with bf4? i don't know what kind of frames you get with the settings i prefer.

 

settings:

texture on ultra

texture filtering on ultra

lightning on low

effect on low

post proces quality on low

mesh on low/ ultra. don't know what it is but i believe it is smoke. ifso i prefer low

no aa.

scaling. 200% is nice but that's 4k. 100% is just fine.

 

i hope the 280 is a 7950 with the same amount of processers as a 7970 and a bit cheaper. 7950 is really expensive. there is are some cards cheaper but i don't want a club3d card or a xfx. club3d is bad cooling and the xfx has locked voltages.

oh and yes, i overclock.

i don't know if you care but my build that i am going to buy is:

fx 8320 (125 watt stock but i oc to 4.0-4.5ghz, 160 watt?)

asus m5a97 eve r2.0 ( 6+2 power phases 140 watt max, is that a problem?)

hyper 212 evo

fractal r4

crucial balistix 2x4gb 1.35volt 1600mhz cas 9 (oc to 2000 if i want with cas 8-8-8-24)

1tb barracude 7200rpm

cx 750 or the cx 600

 

i don't know if ddr4 is comming on feb but i don't care about it to much. ddr2 isn't that bad today. only good thing is lower nm but 2011-3 socket is gonna be expensive? socket 2011 is expensive. 20nm on gpu's is maybe a factor but i don't when it will come.

The 270 will run BF4 at 1080 just fine at 60fps with the settings you said. Might even get a decent boost from mantle later this month so keep an eye out for those benchmarks. But I personally would go with the 280 if  you plan on keeping this for 3 or so years if you have the money now. Might even consider giving your self room to throw in a 2ed a year or 2 down the line when these cards eventually get price cut after newer generations come out. DDR4 wont be worth it when it comes out, it will take a while for the performance to price ratio to even out, besides games dont benefit that much from ram unless you have an apu.

i think i go with the 280. i hope the prices are going down after 2 3 years and i can but a second one:). 750 watt enough?

stop being a poor sap and get a R9 290, embrace the new tech!

Over kill if you're playing at 1080p imo.

i can't afford a r9 290. it is 350 euro and i don't wan't a reference cooler. i like to run my gpu at 65-70c max. and when new stuff comes, i grab the old for cheap :)

i play 1680x1050 so a 290 is really to much.
