I am in the market for a 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 monitor to replace my 3 1920x1080 monitors. The monitor will be for high resolution gaming and I would really prefer 30 inch or more since I am use to gaming in surround. Will I see a noticeable difference from 2560x1600 to 2560x1440? What is your recommendation? And how should I get rid of my existing monitors?
16:10 (2560x1600) because of the extra vertical pixels, 16:9 is a horrible, evil and dirty aspect ratio for computers. Those extra pixels are really good when you are reading text or doing work, although you pay a huge premium for it. The 16:9 monitors just look so much smaller it is ridiculous.
1600 cost about $500 or more, Logan did a video on 1440 and there around $300 both are an improvement. 1600 has twice as many pixels as an 1080. As for what you should do the other monitors either sell them, give them to me, or if you play battlefield 4 keep one of them so you can use that for the minimap thing. when it comes to monitors it all depends on how much you're willing to pay for it, bigger does look better.
16:9 vs. 16:10 is all preference. I prefer 16:10 especially on smaller screen because i need the vertical realistate, But since i got the X-star (1440p) I don't mind it being 16:9 at all. I don't see why people hate it. You choose what you need. 1600 and 1440 are both BIG improvements over 1080p.
1600p will be slightly more demanding on your GPU. But not by too much (about 10%)
As for the triple monitors? KEEP'EM I personally would sell one (or keep it) and then for sure move the other two and turn them 90degrees and put them on both sides of the middle monitor. I would use them for productivity NOTE: they wouldn't work for eyefinity/surround because res's are different.
On these larger screens it doesn't really matter. 27" panels have more than enough vertical space. I'd just grab the cheaper 1440

Fantastic monitor.
Ok then I am about to pick this monitor up unless someone has anything else I should take into account.
