Hello everyone,
Wanted to start off by saying glad my friend recommended me to Tek Syndicate. I see there is a ton of information provided. Experienced a noob moment so unaware the location of the "search" function to look up posts by title so yeah... Anyways to my question. It's Christmas time, just made a new rig (Awesome video on building a rig by the way.) Wanted to know what 2560x1440 Monitors the forum thought of recommending I see "X-Star DP2710 27" 2560x1440" is $300 but I am ok moving up to around $700/800. System is a 780 Ti with 4770K so I have the graphics for a single, not too sure about a dual setup. Please let me know and if I will be able to use a single 2560x1440 monitor with my setup, thanks! The sooner the better so I can order!
I have a 780 that runs 1440p very well. The 7950 and 280x are low cost cards by comparison, and they perform tremendously at 1440p too. Though, the price of AMD cards has gone up recently. So that should give you plenty of confidence that the 780ti can run a 1440p panel.
If you wanted to include a second panel for productivity reasons, it shouldn't tax your GPU. If you want to game on two monitors, that could be a different situation
Thanks for the info and that's what I thought. Do you have any preference for a single 2560x1440 Monitor, like I stated above I'm okay with chunking out some money for a quality single monitor that will last me a good while.
I love my ASUS PB278Q. While the X Star and similar monitors are good, I really advocate getting this unit for ASUS quality. You're not left without anything. You get all the inputs and adaptors that you will need inside the box. So it came shipped with different wall plug options, HDMI, display port, and a DVI-D cable.
Most IPS panels have some level of backlight bleed, but with my ASUS I do not see any unbalanced backlight. It's consistent in brightness all around the panel. Absolutely no drawbacks whatsoever. Perfect for gaming.
