2500k+P8Z68M-PRO vcore problem

2 problems.

  1. i think the vcore control is non-existent in the bios. i've looked it up and i think it's supposed to have the CPUv option

but there's none here

is there something i don't know, or i'm missing?

  1. severe overvoltage

and i mean severely deadly.

a few days ago, it stayed only up to 1.58v, and just now it got up to 1.75v. non overclocked. turbo mode disabled.
and since there's no vcore option found, i can't really try to fix this directly.

2 symptoms.
- it cant get through the 4th iteration/run of intel burn test even on stock clocks and nothing seems unstable. it just instantly shuts down like it's terminally overheating. which it did not, it only got up to high 70s.
- the overvoltage doesnt happen constantly. when i just turn the pc on, it's normal at 1.16-1.23v. but over the course of around 5-10 minutes when lightly loaded, it gradually builds up the vcore for some reason.
the increase is vastly accelerated when i try to stress test it, from 1.2v max on fresh start, and got to 1.4v after 1:30 ish

this one is also confusing, i can't really use my pc for long before it need a refresh/restart. although, sleep mode does reset the vcore back down.

just update the bios. it'll reset all the overclocks and set it back to factory settings.

also if you have a overclocking software uninstall it then reinstall.

well it's already on bios 4002, which the the second latest one. i'll try that. (latest one is 4003)

and i haven't done any kinds of overclocking, because i'm taking as much precaution as i can. so no oc by software.

the only options are, auto, manual, or X.M.P. which to use?

1.5v is the danger zone

umm yeah. that why i asked here.
done, manual. but the only thing shows up is the bclk options.... nothing else....
neither does XMP mode.

manual didn't really do anything much. vcore still rising on burn test. and still shuts down.......

fucking total derp.

the EPU power saving feature needs to be disabled to make the CPU voltage options appear. DUH!

well i still need to see if this works now

uhh..... i'm confused. how am i supposed to set the offset again?
it starts on 0.940v is this max load vcore or idle vcore?

also, it didn't work. voltage still climbing slowly and IBT is still making the pc shuts down time to time.
