$2500 Mac Pro vs. $2500 PC

Alright, so the base model for the Mac Pro is $2500. The PC I'll be compaing will cost $2500. Just a comparison.

Fair game. No monitors. Just have that apple fanboys. Your thunderbolt made by Intel, on a PC.

I probably would have picked some different parts, but nice job. I'm astounded that Apple is still using AMD's 5000 series. I thought they had at least upgraded to the 6000 series since then. This is why I don't understand people who buy Apple computers.

I jsut seriously laughed out loud about apples prices, i mean, WHAY THE FUCKING FUCK!?!
800 dollars for a 512gb ssd.

Their most expensive Mac Pro is 11000 dollars.

And pairing a goddamn xeon with a 5870 seems like horsecrap to me.

Thats the mobo i use lol. That aside, i love how you can even include win 7 ultimate and still be under. I cant believe some one would willingly spend that much on a mac with infereor specs by quite the margin. (please exuse my spelling)

bottleneck city lol

I'd like to see an applefanboy even try to explain how the Mac would be more powerful. "Its got clean aluminum and a revolutionary design for the highest perfromance" Ya, and my PC would be done rendering the hundretdh video before your Mac is done one.

Apple's prices are pathetic.

  • 12GB (3x4GB) [Add $225.00]
  • 16GB (4x4GB) [Add $375.00]
  • 32GB (4x8GB) [Add $975.00]

Need there be more said? Dont even touch an apple if you want to get actual value for your money

Dose it run Final Cut Pro?

If you try to match the specs of the PC with the mac, it comes out to 4,800$ and thats with only using 2x 5870s...I cant imagine what they would charge for a 7970

And if you look at the fine print, the RAM you are using is either 1066mhz or 1333hmz depending on what CPU you get

that parts list is garb for 2500 but i still get what you mean.

Nobody with the right mind would buy a Mac for $2500 and expect the same performance as a PC.

A 660 Ti...... for a $2500 build........................

This is a no-brainer? If you want mac os then build a kickass hackintosh. Go for the pc man.

The Mac Pro uses Workstation Class Parts. If I was gonna compare a Mac Pro to a non-mac, I would compare it to an Opteron Workstation. I can start at 8-Cores and upgrade all the way up to 64-cores.

Dear merciful god, get a better case and a PSU thats at least 550 Watts.
