guys LG 34UM65 ( 34" ultrawide 21:9, 2560x1080 ) for 580$ OR LG 34UM95 ( same thing but 3440x1440 ) for 870$. is 1440p worth the price jump as far as visual quality in games? also, there's the AOC Q2963PM or w/e it's called, 29" 2560x1080 for 380$, which is waaay cheaper but 5" smaller ( which from looking, mostly seems like it's vertically smaller because it seems almost just as wide ).
problem with the 1440p monitor would be price, and performance hit. also, someone said the AOC monitot has had good luck with being overclocked ( which i've never done before ) but i have no idea if the LG's can be OC'd or just stuck at 60Hz.
does it feel pretty wide? judging by videos it seems the 34" is just giving you some vertical height, which i'm not that concerned with. 've never used a 1440p monitor however so idk how much better that would look.
ooo, just looked up the one logan had in his video. 280$, or 300$ for the pixel perfect one. at 300$, i could easily have that and not have buyers remorse ( because i really want 34", and at 34" i feel 1440p is neceasary ). if only they had a 34" 1440p one though, I'd get it in a heart beat.
AOC U3477PQU is a 34 inch 3440*1440 monitor, cheaper than the LG but also not out yet. Coming very soon it seems as it was supposed to be out last September but was delayed for FreeSync it seems (rumor).
If ti was me I would get the 3440*1440 monitor. The quality jump would be enough for me to justify it, but it usually needs a SLi or CrossFire setup to run ultra on. There is a lot of pixels in there to drive. It would run great on Medium/High with an R9 290/x or GTX 970/980.
If you can live with ti I would go for it as GPUs will get real cheap with the R9 300 series coming soon and no doubt the 980ti to counter it. So at that stage SLi/CrossFire would become much cheaper, or just get a new GPU and profit.
oo thanks! i'll look into that monitor. i'll be getting a R9 290 in a few weeks to a month ( tax time ) and probably a second one a few months later. i should be alright on that end. a korean 3440x1440 would be sweet, but did not see any on dream's ebay list.
