I found this listing for 4tb enterprise HDDs From 2014 with a 3 month warranty for $48 aud
Even factoring in the sas hba it would cost half as much as just buying new 8tb drives.
I’m planning on using zfs and using it for jellyfin and an iscsi drive for my gaming PC.
Probably not. Do you know the other details?
Has it been used?
Uptime?
They are hsgt 7k4000 with 50k+ power on hours but with very little lifetime writes.
HDDs are not SSDs. They don’t wear out with writes.
50k hours is grandpa level. Those drives will fail soon, that’s why they are sold.
Get new 16+TB drives like Exos or Toshiba MG. 5 year warranty and good $/TB value.
