1. My current computer has windows 7. Is there a way I can move that operating system on to my new build.
If not:
2. For my next gaming pc build, should I stick with windows 7, or upgrade to 8.1. I don't know if I can get Camtasia Studio 7 (what I use to edit) on windows 8.1 and I don't want to upgrade to Camtasia 8 because I don't like it.
2. I highly recommend that you go to Win 8, as it performs generally better, though I have no clue about camtasia support. It has support for Sony Vegas Pro and Premiere Pro and they generally perform better on windows 8, so my vote here is for Windows 8.
1. You should be able to just transfer the HDD into a new build. If its a laptop or not really ideal to copy then not really. It is possible, but if you have to ask then there is quite a learning curve. Making disk images, transferring them, copying them on new drives and so on.
2. I use 8.1 and like it a lot. But if you have to buy a new copy of Windows, I'd do it. Otherwise 7 is still a great OS.
