I am running windows 8. I have 3.5mm jack out put to my speakers and an optical out to my headset. I want to get sound going to both of them at the same time.
Both outputs are from the motherboard. I know it maybe weird to want sound coming out of both but if It is possible i want to do it.

Did you plug your speakers at the back of the motherboard and the headphones at the front panels?
What are you trying to accomplish by plugging them both in at the same time?

Well...yes...but 'why' is my question. May help with coming up with a solution.
I mean, you COULD always just use a Y Cable. Not the best option, but it is there.
I am interested to know why as well. Headphones usually defeat the purpose of speakers.I could see Why you may want two audio outs if you were doing Pro audio, but headphones AND speakers? In any case the Best and safest way to do this is to get a small DJ mixer. and controller. Sorry, still stuck on "speakers AND headphones"
