2 comp 2 monitor KVM & SteelSeries Apex Pro gen3 keyboard

KVM Model: 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Two Computer

USB Interface (5-gigabit or 10-gigbit): 5gig

Problem:

I have had the KVM for over a year now and had a cheap keyboard previously that worked fine. I just got a new one (SteelSeries Apex Pro gen3) and now it isn’t working with the KVM (doesn’t power up), but it does power up when plugged into the PC directly.

Other Notes:

Tried another USB-A to USB-C cable already too just in case and that didnt work either.

it’ll probably work fine in a usb3/non hid port, but you might need to powercycle the kvm. once the keyboard is out of bios mode, its not hid protocol compliant anymore

Hey Wendell, it DOES work in the USB3 port on the front of the KVM. Thanks for that!

Just be aware hotkeys will not work in the USB 3 ports. You can get a macroboard for that purpose, though
