My family uses a t mobile home internet, basically a glorified mobile hotspot. I didn’t complain because we were getting 300 mb down with okay latency. Now were getting 2-4 mb down while my mobile hotspot on a old iphone 11 is about 20mb down. My theory is that the mobile hotspot is being prioritized over home internet, any thoughts?
Sounds plausible, though I can think of other potential causes. Does your iPhone have an uncapped data plan?
yes and the home internet should also be uncapped aswell.
How old is the T-mobile home Internet box?
its a new home internet box, they got it like 4 months ago
So much for that theory then. I daresay T-Mobile included the bands that they were likely to use for terrestrial fixed 5G/LTE. Have you talked to them about the issue?
Actually check to see if you can find a manufactured on date somewhere on the box or in the system settings. Around where I live the isp’s are know to rework the failed equipment and put it back into service on the next service call that needs a replacement box.
