1x 7990 or 2x 7970

I plan to buy a 7970 soon, and then buy another one around the end of the year.  But I was thinking, should I just buy a 7990 when it comes out instead of two 7970s?  I plan to use this with in eyefinity by the way.  The only reason I'm considering it is because of course a single GPU works correctly more often than dual GPU.

FInal question:  1x 7990 or 2x 7970?

I would go with the 7990 for the reason you have stated, as well as for lower heat and power consumption

Power consumption isn't much of a concertain to me though.  Also, it's a watercooled build.

well having 1 Waterblock could help, will be cheaper for 1 block, less cabling/tubing to run, but 2 7970's would still be pretty boss.

If power consumption and heat are not a concern, go with the dual 7970s. As far as I know, the 7990 is basicly just two 7970s stuffed into one case.

It's true, and the FPS would be higher with 2x 7970s.  So the only pro to using 1x 7990 is the better reliability of a single GPU.  So is it really worth it?
