1st timer OC guides/tips

I would like to OC my ram and cpu. (ram at the very least)

Build:

Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker
CPU: Intel i7-4770k (Stock)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 4GB Classified w/ ACX Cooling (Stock)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR3 2133 (Stock)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H
Power Supply: Corsair 750W HX 80+ Gold Modular
Storage: WD 2TB Gree & Samsung E 128GB SSD 840 PRO
Optical Drive: LG WH16NS40
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

Can someone point me in the right direction towards a good guide/tutorial on how to OC ram and CPU. Also any tips/suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated. I want to OC as high as I can, but at a safe OC that will not alter the lifespan, do damage to the hardware, or anything else. Thanks.

Just one of the many thousand oc guides available >>

http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/overclock_intel_4770k_guide/  (its a good one, follow every word)

Google is your friend. Just always pay attention to temps and never use software to oc.

Also note that every cpu is different, what one person gets (oc) on a given voltage doesnt always mean you'll get the same result. Fingers crossed you have a good chip.

Have fun.

thanks for the info! got anything for ram oc? I really want to do my ram because I paid for 2133 speed and I just now learned that it is not the native speed......I enabled the xmp and it switched it to 2133 and I change some setting( i think it was performance or something like that) from "turbo" to "extreme"(i think). Thats all I changed in the bios for my ram. hoping I did something to get it to 2133 speed.

you won't notice much if any diff in gaming ... in productivity apps you may depending on the app

op follow the oc guide, use cpu-z to check speeds, something like hwmonitor to monitor temps and read the motherboard manual.

In the bios dont change something unless you know what it does hence emphasis on following a guide and learning what things do.
