So I started with a very basic setup and have been upgrading parts as and when I hear a good review about them, so i dont know if I've got a few conflicting parts here. So far this is what I have http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1a3uM
My budget is about £800-£1000, looking for a fairly good gaming PC that will keep pace with the next generation consoles as well as be a home media centre for a projector (at some point) as well as handle image maniplation software. Any advice I will take, pretty much a newbie at this.
With 1000 being you max you could fit a 7950 in there. And i imagine if its going to be hooked up to a projector you might have to move it around abit?
- I'd recommend going with a Corsair Enthusiast PSU instead of a Builder; seriously, people never recommend a builder.
- You could save a few pounds by going with a blue HDD instead of a black, but the black gives 2 more years of warranty and is made of better parts.
- I don't know much about projectors :<
- You could upgrade to a 7950 for the graphics, but a 7870 GHz is just fine, especially MSI.
Here done some changes but it is your decision.

2X8Gb is cool, so he can add 2 more later. Image manipulation sofwares can really take advantage of all this ram.
@Seithe: you planned quite good for a first rig. What I would say, personally I would not set my system on a 120Gb drive. maybe on the 240Gb version, or a WD velocirator 500Gb, partitionned half/half >>> system on the first part.
