Well, first of all my current pc has a AMD FX-6100 and a HD 7770 inside, and it does everything with good speed, but I need a bit faster. I'm aiming to spend around the 200-250$ range to upgrade my computer, but i cant decide whether i should get a new cpu or gpu.
On my computer I do a lot of gaming, but i also do a lot of stuff in adobe premiere, and 3d modeling in Maya.
What do you think I should get? Any suggestions are welcomed.
Sell the 7770 and get a 660TI
(You will see a big bump in FPS and the CUDA cores in the Nvidia card are going to help you out with Maya + CS work)
Overclock your cpu you like Fuck, like, i mean really push that thing, and spend all your money on a $300 GPU, and since your using adobe get a cheap ass 660ti, or a nicer 660 and overclock the jeepers out of it.
Yeah get a GPU, whilst a CPU upgrade could help with rendering stuff etc, the biggest draw back is the 7770.
I was thinking about the 660 / 660ti but i wasn't 100% sure if it was the optimal choice. Now im feeling pretty confident about picking up one in the next week or so. thanks for the advice
