Hi, as the title says I would like some input for some finishing touches or small non cost prohibitive upgrades for me PC.
My specs are the "main rig" listed on my profile and it is already built.I already wish to get a 1TB HDD and maybe 8GB more RAM. Any input would help Including your overall thoughts on my system. Thanks, :D
EDIT: I forgot to add the system Is primarily for gaming although I do have an interest in making youtube content so some editing will be done on the system in future.
EDIT 2: I forgot to update my CPU clock speed a few weeks ago its 4.4GHz now
Yeah, you should add a 1 or 2TB of Seagate HDD and you should upgrade to 16GB of RAM if you are into editing.
Any thoughts on my system overall Razor?
It will be difficult to upgrade to 16GB just by adding another kit. Highly clocked memory sticks are picky, and if you don't want to downclock or loosen the timings, you might have to pick up a 16GB RAM kit that has been matched at the factory.
I would suggest Western Digital Blue/Black drives as I have found that they are more reliable than Seagate Barracudas.
Your build looks pretty damn good. I'm kind of jelly.
lol thanks man :D I was just going to buy another kingston beast kit and drop it in. im running it at 2133MHz to allow my CPU to run more stable with the overclock I've done. would the lower speed make it more likely to work?
You should only be changing your multiplier for your CPU if you don't know how to mess with the FSB speeds.
I think the easiest way to make it work would be to loosen up the timings until it runs stable.
I'm not the most knowledgeable on RAM timings or how to use the FSB. However I have had this rig since October using the RAM XMP profiles combined with a 4.2GHz CPU overclock on stock cooler then a 4.4GHz overclock when I upgraded cooler 3 months ago I have had no stability issues.
