I'm planning to build a new P.C. over summer, and of course, I need the advice (and help) of the pros. I need this computer to be as cheap as possible. I am not willing to go over $800, and I'd much rather not go over $700. I tried to do my best, but when you're building from scratch, it's costly....anyways. Here's the PCpartpicker list I have: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2UnPL
And here's all the info you'll need.
Thanks in advance!
Budget. How much are you willing to spend? No more than $800.
Where do you live (what country), and what currency do you use? 'MURICA and Dollars.
-Is there a retailer you prefer? 1st time ordering parts online, but I guess Newegg.
Do you need or already have peripherals? Nope, building a PC completely from scratch.
What will you be using your future computer for? Gaming.
Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking? No, I'd rather have the parts last longer.
Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future? No.
OS. Do you need a new one? Yes, I do need a new OS.
If you Game-
What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at? High-Ultra settings at 40 fps at least.
What resolution will you be playing at? //or would like to play at. 1366x768 - 1920x1080
What kind of games do you like to play? RTS, FPS/TPS, MMO
What specific game will you be playing (if you only really play one)
If you don't have peripherals -
What kind of keyboard do you prefer? Mechanical, scissor, membrane, etc. I have no idea what this means. (Again, newbie here) but I do like Island keyboards, like the ones found on HP laptops. But really, any keyboard will do.
What type of mouse-grip do you have? Palm, claw, combination? Claw
what kind of games do you play? (mmo vs fps, for button management) The only MMOs I play to play are WoT, WoWP, and War Thunder. The rest will mostly be FPS / RTS
What size monitor are you looking for, and what resolution? Screen type (IPS, S-IPS, TN, etc.), hertz (60, 120, etc.) Don't know about the screen type, but a 60 hertz monitor will do. 1920 x 1080 is the resolution I'm looking for.
Researching on components is definitely a good idea but prices on these fluctuate quite a bit.Better to ask this again when you are closer to buying the parts. We can help better with then with more relevant pricing.
That being said, when is summer?Sorry,i live in Asia. Not entirely sure.
Okay, then asking for assistance closer to that time would be better for sure. 3 months is quite a bit of time. Prices will change. I would suggest you take the time to research the components you want from now till then. At that point you'll have a better idea of what works.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/32TNp couple dollars over your original build but you get a much better processor, a stronger graphics card and a better wireless adaptor.
In gaming, this build will exceed the performance of both builds so far. There's a big jump from the gtx 750 and 750 ti (not to mention this one is OC). I chose the white NZXT over the black because it was $5 cheaper. The monitor is white to match, but the black version of this monitor is the same price. Also I'd pass on the CM Storm mouse and get this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129030 . I recently bought this combo for a gift to a freind, and it is AMAZING for the price.
Interesting...the only thing that worries me is the CoH2 FPS on the 750. It's worse than the 7770, and I'll be playing the original CoH and expansions. Hopefully it'll fair better (that is, if I do get the 750).
Also, would the 650 ti perform better than the 750? I've seen a msi 650 ti on newegg for $105.
Good build...the only thing that worries me is the FM2 motherboard. Heard from a lot of people you'll need to get another motherboard if you want to upgrade to a new CPU later on, due to the FM2 being outdated. not sure about that though.
Nice catch on the motherboard, I thought that I picked a FM2+ MB, my bad. And that Radeon card is NOT $209.99. The link takes you to Amazon, where it is $285! It would be very unwise to advise him to buy a R9 270 priced at what I bought my 7970 for 6 months ago! Please I beg of you DrThrax do not buy a Radeon card any time soon! Crypto-currency mining has allowed retailers to recently jack up the prices of Radeon cards through the roof. Your best bet in this price range would be a gtx 750ti, or a used gtx 660 (ti maybe).
Wow, I did not know these IPS panels were currently so cheap. The 23" version of this monitor is currently $20 cheaper on Amazon than the 21.5" you listed. I'm not trying to correct you, just trying to get the best advise to DrThrax (:
Do you really need Win 8 or are you okay with getting Win7 insetad? You could save a few bucks there and you would not have to fiddle with the (imo stupid) metro/modern UI.
Honestly, I am shocked about the AMD GPU prices on newegg. A 7870 for 230$ is just too much. I found a good offer here for 130€ and was about to suggest this GPU but its just too damn expensive in 'murica.
