1950x stuck on postcode 06 (microcode loading)

I updated the bios on my asrock x399 pro gaming and now my 1950x sits at postcode 06

there is a list of dr debug codes on this forum that says 06 is microcode loading

I dont remember what bios I was originally on
I updated to 2.10 then tried to update to 3.7 and now I cant get into the os

i did bios flashback to v3.20 and it gets slightly farther before hanging every time I hit the reset button

ive gotten into the os twice now but then after a couple minutes the screen goes black and it sits at postcode 06 again

im not sure what to do from here any suggestions?

Flash an even older bios.

Either you have gotten the wrong bios, possibly from a very similar board like ASUS likes to do, or they didn’t have enough space in the file and removed some skews or so.

Or some other voodoo BS.

Clear CMOS is another thing to do, before anything else.

06 is very early hardware init stuff.
It can take a while.
Supermicro boards like to hang on 04 while waiting for the BMC.

I flashed back to 2.10 and its working now

I wonder why the newer ones are not working

Probably one of these.

Most likely bad code.

ask them. The Support i mean.

Or go in and analyze the Bios files. They aren’t encrypted.
The only problem is that we all still don’t know way to many things about AMDs mycrocode and platform FWs.

bios version 3.80 came out and my system posts with it with nothing changed from when I was trying to boot 3.7

no clue what changed but it works now
