1837 - Prologue Review

Since I can't do this in Keep it Metal, I'll do it here!

1837 is a one man Pagan Black Metal act from Canada. It has a very strong folk influence, and honestly I can't equate it to anything. This is just the Prologue EP, as the full album isn't out, but should be soon.
The song names all appear to be in French, though I haven't been able to decipher any of the lyrics, as he vocals are very distorted, and very high pitch. But once you get used to them they add the atmosphere of the music.
All of the songs in the album, especially 1837, start slow, and then explode about thirty seconds in, however the folk instruments playing during the intros generally remain.
The big thing I love about this music, is the frequent tempo changes. During most of the songs, about half way through, there will be a pause and then entire music changes. The mood changes, the riff changes, everything does. It's really exciting when this happens.
The recording quality is really good, and I highly recommend everyone download the EP!
9/10!!
