1800$ PC Build, Assurance and Recommendations Appreciated!

What's up guys, I'm building a PC and I have every part picked out for my build, the only thing I am wondering is if there is any advice on better equipment I could be going with, for the same price. I'm pretty new to the Build A PC foundation, but I really want to make sure this build is the best bang for my buck. So any advice, no matter how little or small is incredibly useful to me. Cheers.

Anyway, here is my part list and why I choose it

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K: I chose this because I wanted Hyper-Threading, as I feel games will begin to implement this technology better in future releases. My substitute would be a i5-4690K, but I really wanted Hyper-Threading soo...

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO: I chose this because I cannot afford water cooling at the moment, although I will most likely upgrade to a custom loop, or H100i in the close future.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3: I went with this board because it supports tri-card SLI, if I ever want to upgrade I can grab another GTX 970, also plenty of features I will use.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 : What can I say, Ram is Ram, 9 CAS latency and 1866MHz for a decent price, I also like the color contrast.

Storage: 840 Evo 250Gb SSD,

Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM: SSD is going to be setup for boot drive and games that I play a a lot. , HD for basic storage, and cheap.

GPU: EVGA GTX970 4Gb Superclocked ACX (x2), going to run these babies in SLI, might pick up a third down the road. Better performance than a GTX 980 by itself and considerably cheaper then getting two GTX980s'.

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular: My rig probably won't ever get close to running over 650 Watts of power, went with this one in particular for price and 80+ Gold rating.

Case: Fractal Design: Define XL R2, I wanted to get a Define R4 mid tower, unfortunately, it was not capable of shipping prime on Amazon, so it would've costed me an extra 153 dollars to ship. Besides, I get a lot of comfy room to work with now :D

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST, just because.

OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM) (64-bit), if I'm going to build a PC, why wouldn't I want anything other than Pro?

Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack):

Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet (x2): I don't think I really need to explain these, case can support 7 fans, it comes with three quiet fans, I want a quiet computer, quiet fans it is. Cooling is important.

My case is missing in PC partpicker, because I have already purchased it.

Total Price: 1,895.50 USD

Aight guys, what can I do better?

Just an after thought, any recommendations need to be through Amazon Prime, I live in Alaska so free shipping doesn't really apply to me. Except Amazon Prime does, so... It saves me boatloads on shipping costs. Thanks again!

A really cool build.

Maybe you should checkout the Noctua NF-12 Fans, they are really quiet.

If you are going with SLI why not buy 16GB of ram, with the two 970s and enough ram you have good gaming pc and editing rig. If you are only gaming on a 1.8k PC, 8GB work quite well.

Have fun while building and gaming

I would tend to agree with Noctua fans, but its not worth it unless you want to use only Noctua fans--- and with 7 case fans plus the CPU cooler,  that can easily add up to alot of money.

Go with the i5 4690k, you wont be disappointing. Games BARELY use 2 threads, let alone 4 or....8. Don't look back. Save the 100 bucks.

16GB of Ram is not needed if its primarily a gaming rig. 8 will do just fine.

For the case, Fractal is great, but expensive. If you want a full tower-- save some money-- buy the NZXT Source 530. I recently moved my rig into one, fits a massive thick 240 RAD in front, and can support a low profile rad like the H100i or thin 360 rad on top. 80 bucks, prime shipping, you cant go wrong.

As for your motherboard, reading some reviews, I'm not impressed. Also, no standard Z97 board can do 3 way SLI. The thrid x16 slot is locked to 4X mode electrically, and nVidia requires at least 8x for SLI.

If you want Gigabyte, and want Tri-Sli in the future, get this.

I am running 2 GTX 760s in SLI with a 4770k this is IMO a perfect combo as far as performance to cost. The 4770k and the 4790k only have 16 PCI Express lanes. 2 Cards SLI 2x8 giving very solid gains over just one card. Now if you add another card into this mix you end up with 1x8 2x4 which will give some gains over the 2 card solution, but the value drops dramatically. I think once you see how much performance you are going to get out of the dual 970s you will change your mind about the 3rd.

I also agree with DdB about the 16GB of ram if you are doing anything more than just gaming. If you are streaming or are like most of us and have way to much running in the back round the extra ram just seems to smooth things out.
