$1700 Gaming PC (Version 3.0)

I think that it'd be a better idea to put money into what will make a noticeable difference ( 240GB SSD ) as opposed to using it to buy a 3770k which will show close to no difference what so ever when gaming.

Yeah they do. Read the post above you.

Ehh... An x79 board and socket 2011 seems a bit unnecessary for me. Maybe in a few years down the road it would come in handy, but I don't see the need for it today.

That's a damn good alternative if you want the AMD GPU route

That looks pretty good, but I think that I'm gonna go with nvidia. Thanks dude

Sticking with Nvidia right now is like commiting a suicide... With latest drivers AMD(Actually ATI) outperforms Nvidia. Compare it to similary priced GPU from AMD and Nvidia, in some cases AMD GPU's outperform Nvidia by 25%... Buy Nvidia if you want fancy CUDA/Psyhx graphics :P

Nvidia is only worth buying for CUDA and Psyhx, anyway I smell an Nvidia fanboy... Go with AMD route, you can save some money or buy a better GPU from AMD. You could also donate some cash for starving african babies rather than pay substantialy more for performance compared to AMD. I dont understand you RevisedNinja: That looks pretty good, but I think that I'm gonna go with nvidia. Thanks dude

You sound like a sheep, blindly following something... Save up some money, theres nothing wrong in that... I am not forcing just somewhat lobying since they have a very good products with amazing bang for a buck performance.

Let me warn you: I have that exact PSU and it isn't modular; it is semi-modular. I am trying to sell mine to buy a SeaSonic X 850W 80+ Gold right now.

Which PSU are you refering to? The XFX in matman24's post, or the one that I have on the original post?

I am only going to have whatever card I go with up until the next gen cards release. Because of this, I want to buy a card that I can sell to somebody locally a few months down the road. The only person I know that's into computers and may want an upgrade nearby is a fan of nvidia. So, it'd be simple; Sell the card to him, and buy whatever comes newly released. If I were to buy a Radeon card, I'd be left with a second card sitting around collecting dust. Sure, ebay, craigslist, whatever. I can sell there, but I want to help out this friend because he has helped me build what I have in the original post. It's a way to thank him; I wouldn't mind suffering a few frames for this.

Oh, and all that african american stuff, the two cards are priced nearly the exact same. I don't know where you think that saved money would come from. Perhaps I should go into more detail in some of my posts so that misunderstandings like this occur don't as much. Anyways, there is a reason I am getting an nvidia card. There is nothing wrong with them anyways, I don't understand why you are encouraging me to avoid them like the plauge. A single 670 can play games on the highest settings on most every game, with a pretty reasonable frame rate. Sure, I could get, what 10 fps more with a Radeon card, but I would much rather see a smile on my friends face than a slightly prettier game.

I think this thread needs to relax a little. RevisedNinja wants a card by Nvidia for multiple reasons. There is nothing wrong with Nvidia. I think in this community we have, we should be able to respect each others preferences with out the need to take things personally. Let's keep it civil folks.

Thank you.

The Corsair HX850W.

How many wires are non-removable?

I changed the GPU in my build to a GTX 680. Everything else is identical to my previous build.

Hmm, is upgrading to a 680 from a 670 worth it? It's going to cost $75 to upgrade from the one in my original post to that one you have. From my knowledge, the 680 outpreforms by a small 5%-10%. I dunno, I could be wrong.

Well I've been looking at benchmarks just now, and the only difference between the two seems to be about 5-10 FPS at most for a 70$ price difference. Since that's the case, your best bet would be the to get the 670, overclock it, and save the  money for something else (like games!).

This one seems to be the best bang for your buck. It has a GHz base clock, and the Twin Frozr cooler is quiet, and is fantastic for overclocking.

Yeah, I figured that. I've done some research prior to this thread and discovered that  the 680 isn't exactly worth the extra money. Also, I'll look into that MSI.

Hey, which card would you go for between these three;

Between those I'd pick the EVGA 670. In the research I've done I can't find a reason to pick the 680. The extra cost doesn't match the extra performance. Just my opinion though.
