The motherboard you have selected doesn't show support for 1866 ram

I know newegg and Tiger Direct doesn't ship to Austraia so when I say either, it is what I use for my reference. Here is a list of sites to check out different pricing options

http://www.overclock.net/t/28861/opinion-where-to-purchase-pc-components-in-australia

You can get the CPU for $30-40 cheeper on newegg. Id personally go with the amd 8350 if hes only gaming but if hes doing any thing other then that which will be cpu heavy you would want to stick with intel

You can use that extra money to pick up a noctua cooling system like the Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler shown here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018

You would be looking at a cpu cooler that is running at less then 20dba. What they lack in style, they make up for in performance.

You can save a few bucks with patriot viper ram as well but I like corsair and Adata. Ram doesn't matter much so long as you go with a reputable brand.

I personally go with AMD gfx cards based on price to performance. If you perfer the power nvidia has then go with that card. However check on a few different sites  because they may throw in a free game. The same card but different brand comes with assassins creed black flag and a lot of amd cards have BF4 included. I just picked up a 29 270x 4GB with battlefield for 300 which was the same price as the 2GB edition.

Mouse and keyboard show decent reviews but a lot of people prefer mechanical keyboards so make sure you know what he wants. The same can go for the case. While some are better then others for cooling, the case is really what a person sees so make sure it is one he wants to see everyday.
