1440p IPS Gaming Monitor

I’m looking at buying the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27" 2560x1440 IPS 165Hz 4ms G-SYNC monitor and it’s 675 bucks which is little bit expensive for me right now being a college student. I’m curious if people think that monitor and others like it will drop any time soon. I realize no one could really with 100% certainty answer that question just kind of curious if those are gonna stay at that price for a long while or if it’s worth waiting till the holidays.

I imagine it will be pricey until they bring out a new one, or holiday sales. But Gsync will always be a premium.

I want something with similar specifications but I want it in about 40 in size
