Time for a uprgade.Im looking for a gpu thats going to be able to almost max out games at 1440p including skyrim, battlefield, crysis 3 and upcomming games. So my choices are between a normal oc 3gb 7970 a oc 6gb 7970 Is it really worth the extra 100 pounds to get the 6gb 7970 money isnt a objective but i have my eyes on another 2tb drive
I would go with the 6GB card. The more VRAM you have the better you can run higher resolutions.
If you want to wait a few days before you make your choice though, I'm getting a Nixeus Vue 27" in the mail sometime next week. I have two overclocked 3GB versions of the GTX 580 in SLI (MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition to be exact). I can let you know what kind of performance results I'm getting once I get the monitor if you want.
That would be great :).Im finding this the worst choice i have ever had to make when buying hardware and i can't seem to find any benchmarks of the 6gb 7970 at a 1440p resoulotion so it would be really appreciated to get a idea of it
Cool. I'll let you know what my performance results are once I get the monitor. I'll show results with SLI enabled and disabled too. Are there any specific games you're going to be playing?
I might be writing up a review of the Nixeus Vue 27 as well.
Not any peticular games :)
Ok, I'll probably test out Battlefield 3, Crysis, and Skyrim.
