Hey guys, anyone know what the best 140mm static pressure optimized fans are on the market right now?

Also, what's your opinion on Cooler Master Nepton 280L vs NZXT Kraken X60?

I was thinking about throwing some Akasa vipers on the Nepton 280L instead of the stock fans. Anyone have any thoughts?

Noctua NF P14 are nice but also expensive.

Honestly, the Noctuas seem overrated. Silence is emphasized and performance is compromised. They only have a static pressure of around 1.5mm H2O if I remember correctly. The Akasa vipers have 3.1mm H2O and aren't much louder.

VORTEX HDB 140 has 1.38 mm of pressure at 1200 rpm. 1.38 mm of H2O

I might end up going with cougar for my case fans, but I think I'm going to go for the Akasa Vipers based on some other opinions I got from Linus' forums. They seem to be the best as far as performance to noise ratios go (for radiator fans at least).

I wish Akasa fans were more widely available. They seem to be amazing fans, but it's hard finding them for less than $15 each. The Apaches look like a perfect fan to me.

You can find them on frozencpu.com. Any good fan is going to be decently expensive. They're still cheaper than Noctua.

Oh, I know I can find them there (I just ordered a motherboard tray from there), I'm just a cheap bastard and don't like spending money on stuff. I did see that the Akasa Piranha 120mm fans were $10 at FrozenCPU or Performance PCs or something and I almost ordered them. but I figured I'd stick with my cheap Cougar fans for a little while longer. Maybe one my home-built case comes to fruition I'll order some Akasa fans.

I already ordered the Akasa Vipers. They should be coming in the mail tomorrow. What do you guys think is a better cooler though? The NZXT Kraken X60 or the Cooler Master Nepton 280L?
