$1250, need help deciding if best decision

Background information

My friend’s mom's business was moving shop and they needed to get rid of 2 HP Z800 Workstation. I obtained one form him and my friend got the other and know I want to build a “Gaming PC” or a PC Mostly focused on gaming.

The only part I can take out of the Z800 are the 2 Intel Xeon X5670 Westmere 2.93GHz Socket 1366 LGA.

I have already bought my GPU EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card and I am planning on doing 3-way SLI latter on down the road.

I am planning on buying EVGA 270-WS-W555-A2 HPTX LGA1366 Motherboard because I will be able to overclock the Xeons with it and I don’t know of any other options that will work for my build.I have at max $1250 to spend on parts, not including the stuff that I have right known.

Everything else that I am planning on buying is in the link below

My Questions

  • Could I drop the price one of the parts without going down in lower quality?

Example: Could I buy a lower wattage power supply but still keep the 80+ gold

  • For my build is the Kingston HyperX 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory going to work for the best bang for my buck.
  • Are there any other Dual LGA1366 Motherboards that are SLI Compatible?
  • Will I have enough air flow and cooling for overclocking?

I do not need to overclock now because I eventually plan on liquid cooling it latter.

If you have any questions or you need me to clarify anything, just leave a comment. I have reason why I chose every part in build and am open for better options. I greatly appreciate your help.

EVGA CLASSIFIED SR-2  motherboard (link) $500 or cheaper if you can find one second hand, offers the uber range of performance.

shitloads of ram = lots $$$

+ everything else gpus, high end cooling, etc...

I honestly wouldnt waste you money if it just for a gaming rig unless you can score some good stuff second hand at rock bottom prices. Wouldve been ideal to grab the whole workstation unit as you could have just thrown in a gpu like a 780 and be done with it.
