I need to cut this budget to $1200 maximum. This rig is for a friend that is fine with a 500gb hard drive; perhaps I can snag some price off of a 500gb hard drive, but which is a decent performing 500gb hard drive?

Also, he only wants 8gb of ram. Is the fast 2133 speed for ram important? I can find $50 1600 though.
Any thoughts on the build?

Also, the cheapest I could find the power supply is $90-95.

Thoughts, opinions? :D

Just so you now, you're going to need to mod the case for the Kraken. The Tempest 410 uses 20mm fan spacing, and the Kraken needs 15mm spacing, which means new holes.

As for cutting the budget, get a 7870 Tahiti LE instead, and/or an FX-8320. I'm assuming getting a Kraken means overclocking, which makes stock clocks irrelevant thus making the 8320 and 8350 more or less identical.

u missed out on the ram part jerm... and he doesnt need ram that fast... 1600 mhz if he's in it plainly for gaming higher mhz for editing and psu u dont need to go that high if ur not overclocking. if he is overclocking fine stick with that.

Get 1866 ram. That's the fastest the FX series supports anyway.
