$1200 editing PC

Sorry for the long post but I really need your help, your AMD FX8350 review convinced me to get one, but then the i5 4670k came out and all the benchmarks say its better, so i'm really stuck now.I've benn reading and checking video builds A LOT and looking at all kinds of benchmarks from all around (anandtech, passmark, cpu and gpu boss) to know more about PC components to try to decide which parts are the best for my slightly flexible budget of $1200, but I still can't make up my mind which brings me to the main problem and purpose of this email.

I recently came across some money doing some freelance work and I wanna build me a decent PC with it. I'll mainly be doing graphic design, video editing, 3d modelling/rendering, but I also want something in which I can play Crysis 3 in 1080p(single display) with decent FPS.

 I made up 4 possible builds, and would very much appreciate your thoughts on them:

(I live in Ecuador so all the prices here have been added a 5% tax)(Also I didn't include HDDs cause I already have decent ones)

Unchanging Parts:

- case: Fractal Design Define R4 = $ 84.00 (noise redux and good airflow)

- PSU: Thermaltake Smart 750w = $ 81.00 (I plan on SLIing later on)

- Cooler: Corsair H80i                = $ 88.20 (i read it was good, maybe i'm wrong)

- SSD: Samsung 840 250gb      = $183.75 (it’s the best for the price, less than $0.75/Gb)

-------------------------->Total= $436.95

Option1:

- CPU: AMD FX-8350               = $204.40

- MoBo: GB GA-990FXA-UD3   = $144.90

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb= $125.67

- GPU: EVGA GTX 760 2gb       = $262.50

----------------------------U.P. = $436.95

------------------------->Total = $1174.42

Option2:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K        = $251.21

- MoBo: MSI Z87 GD45            = $157.50

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb= $125.67

- GPU: MSI GTX 660 2gb          = $204.75

----------------------------U.P. = $436.95

------------------------>Total = $1176.08

Option3:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K        = $251.21

- MoBo: MSI Z87 GD45            = $157.50

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb  = $ 78.00

- GPU: EVGA GTX 760 2gb       = $262.50

--------------------------- U.P. = $436.95

------------------------->Total = $1186.16

There is also one more possibility, with a 120gb SSD instead of 250gb, and I can jam a GTX 770 in this one with only 8gb of RAM, but maybe it's worth it.

Option4:

- CPU: AMD FX-8350 = $204.40

- MoBo: GB GA-990FXA-UD3 = $144.90

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb = $ 78.00

- GPU: MSI GTX 770 2gb = $420.00

- SSD: Kingston 120gb = $ 94.50

--------------Other Parts = $253.20

--------------------->Total = $1195.00

The last and also possible option is that I did everything wrong and these builds suck, so I hope it's not too much to ask: What would YOU build as a 3d modelling/video editing PC with $1200? (not including the HDDs and Optical drive)

In any case I would be extremely grateful if you give me your opinion. Sorry I took up so much of your time....

Around $150 over, but honestly, hyperthreading will help a ton with editing. There is a few things you could switch, like the os, but 8cores>4cores for editing. Haswell offers slightly better performance than the 8350.

Socket 2011 is good for an editing pc.

Thanks for the list, I know the 4770k is better than the 8350, but is it 75%(price difference) better?

2011 for under $1200? Yeah id buy that from you. You must be a good supplier there.

fx 8350 + gtx 770

or

i7 4770k + gtx 760

Id choose the 8350 build and possibly look into an ATI card instead. 7970 perhaps

Isn't CUDA a must for graphic design/video editing? I've heard, I don't really know. I'm ignorant in this field

think most AMD users go for OpenCL, think it basically does the same job.

And is much faster, in the long run going with FX 8350 and a HD 7970 will pay off, since you get 8 threads and a much better video card, which you will need for 3d programs and editing. I don't understand why you would even consider a 660/760 ...

AMD is the way to go, or instead of FX 8350 go with i7 but don't skimp on graphics, a FX 8350 would be cheaper and be at the same level.

No it's not, it really depends on the program, some are faster some are not. Also if you don't want the mediocre overclocking ability of a haswell, get a non-k chip. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2323164

i7 is a quad-core with hyperthreading, FX 8350 is true 8 core processor, excluding the shared FPUs module concept.
