"12 is better than 6" crashes, debian 8

Hi,

I have a bit of a problem. I recently switched to debian 8.
Then I wanted to play "12 is better than 6".
But whenever I start it from within steam it crashes.

So I thought I start steam from command line and see what error it outputs. But there was no error, because steam did not crash, just the game did.
Does anyone know how to start steam games directly from the command line, so that when the game crashes, I can see the error?

Does anyone know how to fix it?

thanks,
oldman

Take a look in the 'syslog'.

EDIT: To be more clear, take a look in the syslog at what error is being output by the game.

This is the Error I get right at the time the game was crashing.

gnome-session[989]: Failed to open BO for returned DRI2 buffer (1280x800, dri2 back buffer, named 4).

gnome-session[989]: This is likely a bug in the X Server that will lead to a crash soon.

Are you using Intel integrated graphics by chance?

Yes, an old intel core2duo in a thinkpad T400.

Oh... Chipped graphics woooo.

What driver is x using for the graphics device.

As a side note, this may help http://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/fix-for-periodic-failed-to-open-bo-for-returned-dri2-buffer-crash-on-intel.31270/

thanks.
Comment 7 fixed the problem.
