1080p not filling the screen

hi,

i have a radeon x1950 pro (yes is old), i've installed the drivers but if I set the resolution on 1080p doesen't feel the screen all the way. Instad if I set it to 1680x1050 it goes fullscreen.

with the same HW and my older GPU (vga port) 1080p was ok. could be the dvi to hdmi cable that causes the problem or the driver are not working propely? when I play Dota 2 and i close it the resolution resets to 1080 and gives me the awfull contour.

your screen is probably a 16:10 aspect ratio and runs at 1680x1050 that is a popular resolution of older moniters

if it ran at 1680x1050 he wouldnt be able to display at 1080p, i would say maybe he has a 1200p monitor

ty guys,

it turned up that the videcard was broken and coudn't display some of resolution under many tests it started to crash so i bought a cheap new one.

i'm surprised you could even play dota2 on that
