at this point, wait
But how looooonggg
I waaaant ittt
I am not a zen master of self control...
I am but a weak willed man...
The card will come out too like $750 after tax
And the waterblock will be like anuther 150...
I guess in october it ll be out... and you ll have more performance... if you are not a zen master, you ll need more powwaaa...
The base 1080 isnt quite there for 4k yet ether....
Yep so it's better to wait to the 1080TI... you precommand it.. so you ll be sure to have it
Considering the prices & performance for this generation, I actually don't think that tere will be a 1080ti... That is my opinion, but the 1080 would have to come down in price so the 1080ti can slot into the $900 mark... When the $980 came out it was about $550 ish, and the Titan X $999... But this is speculation.
I have a bigger theory, that Nvidia knows that AMD Vega chips will be very good, especially with the open source support being better, Nvidia will actually have another product launch sooner than expected.
wait for after black Friday or after Christmas. tell then hold your balls and ego and also see what AMD has to offer by then. cause right now it's all mid tier cards and low tier cards. both will make bank when the holidays come around.
Asus rog strix gtx 1080 8gb
Strix-gtx1080-O8G-ga
1936mhz core clock. Out of the box.....
And the rgb asus aura will match my mobo.....
I would just go for it.
Depending on what you have right now.
It is somewhat hard for me to believe they will try to make a card between the 1080 and the Titan XP
Because the Titan XP is only 24% better than the 1080
that is not a lot of wiggle room to have a skew between that
Maybe there will be like a new Titan black that is an actual completely unlocked fully powered and operational battle station
Maybe they will release the fully unlocked card in retaliation to Vega
I know I doonnnnnt neeeeeeeedddd it.....
Danm this 4k screen....
All its doing is tempting me to run settings higher than I Neeeed too...
I have an EVGA GTX 970 currently with an EK-FC-670 waterblock
the coil wine is unbelievable ...
even when the usage reaches above 25% it starts squealing
The graphics card readily handles 1080 P without any noticeable problems but it cannot push harder for instance like my 4K resolution screen will support
I could get roughly the same performance almost if I get a second 970 4 SLI but then I will run into higher power usage over all and any potential SLI issues but that would only cost me like $230
Well i think that i would upgrade honnestly.
a GTX1080 is a very large stepup from the GTX970 for that matter.
The 1080Ti will most likely be a gimped Titan XP.
But it might take another year before that card launches.
I hate you
I love you
I hate myself
My wallet hates me too...
IM TRYING TI SAVE FOR A HOUSE GODDANMIT
Lol yeah unless AMD is going to amaze everybody with their upcomming Vega cards.
Then Nvidia might do a quick 1080Ti launch.
Buuttt itss 900 dolllaaruuuu
Or you go a step down for a nice high overclocked out of the box 1070.
Something like the Zotac.
Of course its not that fast as a 1080, but it is significantly cheaper.
And i also think that its a significant step up from a GTX970 aswell.
Since it edges out the 980Ti in certain games.
But....
Urrrrgghhhhh
I am wondering if there is honestly going to be a 1080 ti. Will the 1080 ti be 8 gb of gddr5x with a 384 bit bus?
I think a 1080 is a great investment. I upgraded from my EVGA 970 FTW and it was such a fantastic decision. I am gaming in 4k just fine. Sure, you can't turn on all the filters in the Witcher 3, but you don't need to at 4k.
You need more RGB LED's...
Volta is the next generation...
The only way to tell is by the yield of the chip. The ones with 1 or 2 bad clusters could possibly yield a 1080ti
variant... It has to have 12GB, if not then its too close to the 1080.
