$1000ish computer for college. Thoughts?

So this is what i worked up for college. Small form factor and powerful. Dont really want to spend anymore than that. On Neweggs cart it will cost me around $1080 with the rebates and promo codes.

Thoughts?

Changed out the CPU. You won't be OCing in such a tiny case especially because you didn't buy aftermarket cooling. So no reason to buy a K part. The Xeon is only a little more but it is essentially an i7-4770 without the iGPU and it will be perfect for this rig. You could also use a B85 motherboard but none of those have built in WiFi like you want.

Changed the RAM. Found some cheaper. RAM is RAM. Doesn't matter.

Changed the Black drive to a Blue one. The Black isn't worth $20 more. Threw in a Samsung 840 Evo SSD as well.

Changed the PSY to a better Gold rated one.

Changed the GPU to an R9 280X. It is cheaper than the 770 and faster 9 times out of 10.

I prefer laptops for doing school. I find myself going to starbucks to do my homework because my house gets loud and crazy and I can't focus. Also the freedom of taking my laptop to class and taking notes on it is great. I got a Lenovo Yoga but I would have got the Surface as well if the keyboard would have been better. I just can't see getting a desktop for school. But if you are single and have a great place to study with no distractions and you have no need to take it with you anywhere go for it. A computer for school does not need to be very powerful unless you are into graphic design or something like that. I would only spend that kind of money on a gaming rig honestly. A desktop for school should only cost half that.

I am gettign a laptop as well for class but when im not in class i want a desktop.
