$1000 Gaming rig?

Recently I've had a lot of people asking me for what they should do for a gaming rig around $1000 in price. I've watched reviews etc, and i'm needing a second opinion, here's what i've come up with for around $1000

Intel I5 4670K: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CO8TBOW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

*sidenote: should I have them use the stock cooler that comes with the system or get a hyper 212 EVO?(these systems won't be OC'd really)

Asus H87-PRO LGA 1150 Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131993

16GB Corsair Value ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233374

Asus GTX 760: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DBPKEOI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Samsung 840 120GB for booting and prority games: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NHAF06/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

WD Blue 1TB HDD for storage: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088PUEPK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Corsair CX500M PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050

Coolermaster Haf 912 for case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233

So with this build did I miss anything important? Also should I suggest an AMD FX 8350 intead of the I5?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I would ditch the ssd for a better z87 motherboard. No point getting a 4670k and not being able to overclock it.

With the psu you could go for a XFX550w and it would be much cheaper than the cx500 and better quality than it.

You only need 8gb's of ram for gaming so you could loose the extra 8gb.

Alright, thanks for the advice.

I forgot about how gaming only really uses 8GB (I have 16 in my system).

What's the major difference between the XFX and the corsair?(other than wattage)

The XFX psu is better quality and the only downside to it is that its not modular.

How is the XFX better quality? Like different caps or what?

Exactly. The Corsair CX series uses inferior SamXon caps. And XFX is made by SeaSonic, a very high tier company.

Alright, thanks for clarifiying that, I hate reccomending something I haven't used before if I don't know anything about it. I'll switch that out now and show my friend monday.

yea i agree with you, a better motherboared = better features like audio and like you said overcloking.
