$1000 Gaming Machine HELP?!

I am completely new to PC building, but want to make my own rig for only gaming. I am saving up about $1000 for this PC. However, I dont have anything; just a table with an empty spot. This means that I also have to buy a monitor, keyboard, OS, etc. with that $1000. I was wondering if I should spend more on the computer (maybe $800) and buy really cheap acessories, or spend about $600 on the computer and buy a nicer monitor, keyboard, extra for games, etc.?

PS I was thinking about basing the build after Logan's $625 build, but that video is over 1/2 a year old, so is that build still relavant for gaming the newest games? or are there parts that have gone down in price/ have just come out?

here is a thread from a couple days ago checkout these builds, should spark your intrest.http://teksyndicate.com/forum/build-pc/amd-1000-build-suggestions/130741

Here's what I'd do, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zpxL .

And Pirate a Windows OS, or use Linux since Steam is coming out on it soon enough.

To cut off 20$, you can switch to the 500GB Barracuda.

I like Spens build but I woudn't go with that keyboard. Go and buy a Quickfire from Coolermaster for a much better keyboard (mechanical) that will last your entire life.

I forgot about those! Yeah go for one of those, I didn't like suggesting a rubberdome board but I know sidewinders are about as nice as they get and forget you could get a mech for about the same.

Mechanical keyboards are amazing.
