$1000 (AUD!) or under laptop suggestions

could i get a hand with a laptop 1k (aud) or under, don’t know the laptop market that well and it’s a rushed purchase. Thanks in advance

  1. productivity and uni work, not main rig
  2. prefer a bit of ram and SSD
  3. wouldn’t mind a tablet combo either if it can be done for 1hr train trips to work/uni etc
  4. runs linux/windows

Edit:
no games - just pdfs/browsing/word docs/some viideos but nothing significant - not necessarily at all at once
battery life 7 hrs plus

Ya, we need to know what kind of work/programs you will be running on it, what kind of battery life, and size considerations.

Then whatever has at least an i5 + 4gbs of RAM will be fine, maybe throw in an SSD, I'd look for a thinkpad, the keyboards are nice. unless you want battery life, then just get something that's new

@Streetguru thanks will have a look at it. @Vandal85 yea was looking at the surface but with keyboard/pen ur looking at 1k then i may as well just go f it all and spend an extra 400ish on the surface 4... the yoga is an interesting option, especially with linux considering their recent history... will have more of a look :P
