Contact a mod if they don’t respond to this post! I know I’ve seen @SgtAwesomesauce deal with the linux badge in the past. Just a heads up he’ll probably require you to make a blog post about it!

thetazman was correct; You’ll need to make a thread outlining your experience, then ping me and you’ll get the badge

I’m going all in on this challenge. Just installed Mint about two weeks ago as my daily driver and can’t believe how much most things just work. The only problem I had was getting 5.1 sound setup on a Sound Blaster AE-5, but that is finally working. Been enjoying Horizon Forbidden West just fine through Steam + Proton and the latest Proton seems to have fixed the FSR 3.1 frame generation issue. So far, no regrets and I’m quite confident that this Windows refugee will be a long-term Linux / Mint user.

Welcome to the forums! Glad you could make it! Coffee / tea / cookies are in the corner!

I glad to see more people trying out linux! Suspect there will be more of us doing so! I’m almost at the 1 year mark on the 1 year challenge! Can’t believe how time flies!

Feel free to ask questions as there is a lot and I mean A LOT of good people here that are willing to help out!

Now, I have finally gotten my laptop back. I left it as the Lenovo is a bit bulky and everything that had to be done could be done on the work laptop through RDP.

i installed Arch from scratch, with Zen, gnome, doas and grub back in 2022.

I reinstalled Arch when I upgraded my disk in 2023, this time xfce and still running it. I wanted to reinstall once a year so I might test Mate next.

I don’t know why the terminal still has this massive window frame but anyway, this is what I’ve been running with. I can play a lot of games and have 1060 tabs in FF.
