1/5 scale buggy case build log

This is going to be a sand rail computer case, I've always wanted to make a sand rail so im going to start small lol

I've never made something like this before so starting out was real frustrating my bro was showing me how to use solid works and though that was cool i didn't know how to build what i wanted. I decided to make a mock up and what better way then using some cardboard and duct tape. once i got that somewhat laid out I took some welding rod, brake line bender and bailing wire to make a prototype of what i was looking for. the final will most likely be 1/4 tubing but this was a realy cheap way for me to get my head around what i wanted.

Just starting out

Basic layout

starting to bend some rods

side view

Sides and risers bent/cut

welding the risers on ( my bro's the welder)

Alright both sides on time to get bending

below are what i have so far just different angles

Next to work on front/rear suspension and various support areas, still not exactly sure where the rads are going to go. i need the a arms setup up front so i can either bring the bottom nose in or the upper nose out to give it more of a rake look. the body isn't square but this is just a mock up so i can see what i need to modify so every thing fits.  contents in this build will be current pc

psu : evga 1300 g2

gpu r9 290 x 2

cpu: 8320fx

mobo: asus maximus v formula z 990fx

storage is undecided,  the cpu, gpus and vcore will be water blocked

If you have suggestions or words of advice by all means enlighten me.

Skimming through the pictures I thought you were going to make the computer inside a coffin!

That would be cool, not really my style though

I love how you are using a Kirby Classic! Random I know, but I collect Kirby's and love to see people using the superior vacuum. As for your case, this is going to be one bad ass computer.

just a small update. Changed the front end because it was to long (looks better now) and started blueprint model in solidworks. I'll be adding the components from the build there to make sure everything fits.

I hope so, I have another idea for a case I'll be making for a friend once we get all the components together

almost done running it in cad need to make it about 3 inches longer to fit the rads, still need to design front and rear suspension . the parts in the images below minus the frame i pulled from grabcad

worked on it a bit this weekend, made proto type 2 and found a great deal on some 3/8 aluminum tubing that the final will be made out of. Made the case a bit wider and longer to allow better cable management and radiator mounting. i think im going to stick them on the roof and make it look like a roof rack but im still messing with it. I like how most of it looks but the back just looks off.  updated pics below. for full gallery check out
