I got the " 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Single Monitor - Four Computer". Great box. It has everything I want. But I’m having one little problem that is making it so I can’t use it as I would like.
I’ve got it setup as follows:
Computer 1 - Windows 10 Desktop : Solo Monitor (Display Port GTX 1050) (Original Adapter)
Computer 2 - Windows 10 Laptop : Second Monitor (Display Port) (USB C Adapter)
Computer 3 - Windows 10 Laptop : Second Monitor (Display Port) (Mini Adapter)
I get the display just fine on all system and “Extend” the desktop on both the laptops. All good to this point. Now for my little problem. Whenever I switch away from a laptop Windows decides that the monitor went away and puts all the UIs on the primary laptop video and it stays that way when I switch back.
So I’m pretty sure I’m not the first person to hit this, so I’m really looking for some hints/suggestions on how to keep Windows from dropping the second display when switching away. And yes, I did do some googling, but my google skills have let me down this time.
