1.4 display port kvm switch - dual monitor

I have had this KVM since 2021. It was working fine today. I got a new work laptop and connected it to the laptop docking station and the monitors did not display anything. I then unplugged all cables from the KVM and computers and waited 15 mins. I then plugged the cables back into the desktop and laptop dockingstation and then the KVM then connected the power. Still no display. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I need to get it working.

If you connect the monitors directly to the dock (not using the KVM at all), do they work?

Does the dock connect over USB-C?

Yes they work. I am useing display port cables for the monitors. I currently am using the monitors on my computer without the KVM however the keyboard / mouse work fine through the KVM.

I just connected the cables directly to my work laptop dock and it works fine.

what lights are in the kvm? power brick ok? kvm come on and respond to button clicks with nothing plugged in?

The green / red lights are on when i change computers. Currently computer one is green / red and computer two is all green.

does the other computer work or is it just the dock thats not working?

Neither of the computers work.

have you left the kvm unplugged from both power and usb for at least a couple of minutes?

Yes I did it for 10 mins and that did not work so I tried 30 mins and it still did not work.

thats really really weird, we can setup a mail in rma for more diagnostics can email wendell at leveltechs.com and mail it in monday. is there a new DP cable in the mix? wondering if a 20 pin dp cable snuck in (those pass voltage when they shouldn’t) . that’s about the only thing I can think of that could possibly damage something badly enough to take out multiple inputs

I agree it is very weird. I have not changed any of the cords they are identical to what they were before I plugged in the new laptop to the docking station. It is the exact same model laptop as the old one that had issues. I tried it again today and still no video.

I was able to get it to work. I unplugged all cables from everything. The monitors and comptuers and left it overnight then plugged everything back in and it is now working.
