1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - 4 Computers(10gb) blocking sometimes

Hello,
I brought this KVM like a month ago. I connected to it a desktop, mac(m1).
As peripherals:
Mouse (HID): logitech G502 lightning wireless
Keyboard: RII 100
Microphone (HID): HyperX QuadCast

The problem that I have is when switching between PC/mac occasionally the KVM gets stuck. While stuck, the display is working fine but one or more peripherals might not be working and I can not switch to the other computer using the physical buttons on the KVM or hotkeys. I should mention that if it gets stuck and you attempt to switch between the 2 PC, if you press the button corresponding to the other PC that indicator will have the red light, but as soon as you release the button, the light goes back to the initial indicator(the one which got stuck on).

The last time it got stuck, the mouse and the keyboard were working fine, but the microphone was not working. I tried to unplug the microphone and plug it again but it didn’t make any change.

The only way to solve the issue is to remove the power cable. I tried to remove the cable going from KVM to PC but that didn’t help either.

Wow I’ve never heard of this problem before. Thank you for reaching out. Feel free to contact “wendell at level1techs dot com” you may be able to get an RMA

sometimes if you have a hid device that isn’t really hid, it can cause the kvm to do weird stuff. hid isn’t just a label… its a protocol. I’d try rebooting the kvm and try moving one device at a time off of hid and onto usb3 to see if you find the problem device.

the way hid works hid is a “stack” inside the kvm. so one problem “hid” device can cause problems for all other hid devices.

with the usb3 ports tho this isn’t a thing; it’s why they’re there

Makes sense, I’ll have to write that down :stuck_out_tongue:
