so, I found a local deal on a great monitor, saved me like $30, so I have decided that for a dual-boot, I should probably have 256g of boot/program drive space.
so, I am presented with 3 options:
2 120g ssd's, no raid, one linux, one windows
2 120g ssd's in RAID0, partitioned into 2 120g partitions.
1 256g ssd partitioned as above.
which is better?
do NOT need suggestions as for exactly which ssd to get. i have my favorites picked for each. I just want to know which is better.
if they are in raid 1, you cant do 120 gig partitinos. if you raid two drives togeather, you only have the space of one drive (ie. you could do two 60gig partitions)
i would recommend getting a 256 gig and partitioning linux / windows. as it would prorubly be cheaper then two 120 gig drives. performance wise though, assuming the controllers are the same, you will be getting the same performance.
I would just get a 256GB SSD. That will be crazy fast and I don't think if you will notice the superior speed of a RAID 0 array. At least not in day to day use or gaming.
kk, about what I expected the answer to be, just wanted your opinion.
and theis new monitor is pretty good, even though it's not LED, i mean, $160 on newegg, got for $120, plus a free 18" hdmi cable (little short, but it works)
