-$1,000- Gaming Build | First Build

Ok this is the build that I have made. I already have everything like monitor, keyboard etc.

I am looking for the best bang for my money. I will be playing games like BF3/BF4, Metro 2033, Star Craft 2, Crysis 3. I will be overclocking and will probably get a second graphics card at some point. Some things that I will require are a modular power supply, probably a quiet case like the Fractal Design R4 and Windows 7. Budget is $1000 and will be getting the parts in a few weeks.

Looks good although for the best bang for buck I'd look at this card http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-111992020g

7870 > 1280 shaders, Pitcairn based GPU

7870XT > 1536 shaders, Tahiti based GPU.

I have changed the build slitly and it does come out a $100 more but I think that it is worth it.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($179.99 @ Microcenter)

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ Outlet PC)

Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($199.99 @ Newegg)

Kingston Beast 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($76.50 @ TigerDirect)

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($84.98 @ Outlet PC)

EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($259.99 @ NCIX US)

Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ Amazon)

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC)

I think this build will play any modern game at max settings @ 1080p or higher resolution without any problem.

Hope you like this build! EnJoY :)

I'd stay away from AsRock's 970 Extreme 4.  Several people said that (and Extreme 3) are not great boards for overclocking.
